  • Comments: if you leave a comment on the site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. Gravatar’s privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is publicly visible alongside your comment.
  • Media: if you upload images to the site, avoid including embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors can download and extract location data from images published on the site.

5. Login and comment cookies

  • Account data: retained while your account is active, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after closure. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username).
  • Comments: retained indefinitely, along with their metadata, so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically rather than holding them for moderation.
  • Billing data: retained for 10 years, per French accounting legal obligations.
  • Security data (logs): retained for a maximum of 12 months.
